The Split View
without any image distortion and the virtual dissection in the
Rendoscopy software reduces our evaluation time by providing a more
rapid 3D image assessment that is possible with an antegrade and
retrograde endoluminal fly-through. In the Split View and the
virtual dissection may also improve accuracy by reducing blind spots
present with endoluminal displays and by reducing reader fatigue. A
disadvantage of virtual dissection is the distortion of colonic
normal anatomy especially at flexures. The big advantage of the Split
View: Viewing behind folds with no image distortion (even if the overview is not comparable to
the virtual dissection) combined with the information of the adjacent
mesenteric fat to assess infiltration in question, reduce our assessment time, while accuracy increased. The new deep
colorization seems to be very promising in detecting flat lesions.
With our Rendoscopy
work station we assisted two other institutions (Kolding and Horsens
Sygehus) in a learning process as a second reader. In a recent pilot
CRC-screening project in Vejle, we encountered no technical problems
using Rendoscopy. The system also easily computes all data from our
64 array CT-scanner without any problems.
